Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool were denied a clear penalty against Leicester City.
The Premier League leaders failed to take full advantage of Manchester City’s slip-up in the title race as they were held to a draw by Claude Puel’s side.
But Klopp feels that a number of decisions went against the Reds, including a penalty appeal after Naby Keita was clipped by Ricardo Pereira in the second half.
The Liverpool manager also argued that Harry Maguire, who equalised for the Foxes on the stroke of half time, should have been sent off for tripping Sadio Mane.
He said: “I think everybody agrees there could have been a penalty.
“It maybe should have been a penalty. I don’t know why it wasn’t a penalty. Have I spoken to the referee about it? No. I don’t think it will change anything.
“I don’t know what he thought at that moment. I think he had the best position.
“Usually I’m here to explain penalties that were penalties, whether it was a soft penalty, all that stuff. A penalty is a penalty. This today was no blood involved again, but it was a penalty.
“Then there was the situation with Maguire. Is it smart what he is doing?
“I would say it is a 100% [goalscoring] chance at least that is something … a situation where there is a goalscoring chance that tells the ref he has to give a red card.
“Because not only is Sadio through, but I am pretty sure Mo [Salah] was on the other side which gives you two against one against Schmeichel.
“But the ref thought it was not a red card, he gave a yellow card and that was it. We can do nothing about that now.”
