The Wallasey Tunnel was closed during rush hour this morning due to concerns for a man on a bridge.
The man was on top of a bridge situated on Poulton Road, Wallasey. Merseyside Police were called to the scene and were assisting during the rush hour.
The Wallasey Tunnel was closed in both directions whilst police dealt with the incident in order to ensure the man’s safety.
The tunnel was closed for around two hours whilst the incident was ongoing.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said “A man has been talked down by officers from a bridge on Poulton Road, Wallasey and has been taken to hospital to be assessed. The approach roads to the Wallasey Tunnel are now open. Thank you for your patience”.
