A man is facing ten years in Thai prison after he spray painted “Scouser Lee” on a famous Thai landmark.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, Lee Furlong, was caught on CCTV spray painting on the historic Tha Phae gate in Chiang Mai at approximately 4am in the morning.
Embarrassingly the word “Scouser” was spelt incorrectly as the words “Scousse Lee” were daubed on the walls of the 13th century monument.
Today he admitted to being “blind drunk” during the incident and is now “terrified” at the prospect of spending ten years in a Thai jail.
Following the incident local police launched a man hunt to find Lee. They are also looking for a 23-year-old woman from Canada who they believe was with Lee at that he sprayed the name on the Tha Phae gate.
Both were taken to the scene of the crime and admitted to the incident. Both now face a ten year jail sentence or a £23,500 fine.
Lieutenant Colonel Teerasak Sriprasert from Chiang Mai police said: ‘The graffiti says “Scousse Lee”. This means ”Scouser Lee from Liverpool”. The girl is called Brittney and she wrote a letter ‘B’ on the wall.
