Giants creator Jean-Luc Courcoult has thanked the people of Liverpool after their final farewell.
An estimated 1.3 million people turned out across a three-day weekend to see the last-ever appearance of Royal de Luxe’s larger-than-life puppets.
The French production company brought down the curtain on their street theatre, titled Liverpool’s Dream, by lifting the Big Giant into a raft in Canning Dock.
As part of the grand finale, the Little Girl who took centre-stage in the 2012 and 2014 performances returned to Liverpool for an unscheduled family reunion.

“It was only a story about giants who were passing brought Liverpool to carry the crowds dreams above the tides,” said Courcoult.
“Liverpool is bleeding an will always bleed in our hearts. From the heart of this company I hold you in my giant arms. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you”
The Giants together covered 21 miles across their three days on both sides of the River Mersey as they bid a fond farewell to their adventures.
