Liverpool FC have been granted a two year temporary license that will allow them to hold events outside of the Football season.
Following a second hearing today a committee approved a temporary license for the club to hold six non-footballing events.
Plans were originally rejected by the council when they heard that residents had not been consulted and that many residents opposed the plans.
Liverpool FC held consultation events with residents in the time between hearings in the hopes that this would clear the route for their plans to be approved.
11 people returned to the council hearing today to speak out against the plans. Two Councillors also moved to reject the plans however this was not enough to stop them being approved.
The decision means that a plan to host major non-football sporting events at Anfield will now be allowed to go ahead on six separate occasions.
The plans give the club permission to be able to hold major music concerts for around 50,000 people as well as boxing or combat sports events.
