Marco Silva says he is ‘really calm’ about Everton’s potential ‘tapping up’ row.
A Premier League inquiry has been launched into the Blues’ appointment of Silva which could see the club receive either a hefty fine or even a points deduction.
Everton’s initial pursuit of the Portuguese coach last season was cited as an ‘unwarranted approach’ which was a factor in Watford’s decision to part with him.
But Silva insists that the potential repercussions are not a situation which has a bearing on his side’s preparations for this weekend’s visit of West Ham.
He said: “Really I don’t have thoughts about this situation.
“It’s something I don’t lose my focus. I’m really calm about the situation. What is important for me and for us as a club is the next game.
“We’ve been working here since July 3 to prepare well our squad for the match and training sessions.
“I don’t read anything about it. It’s not important for me as a manager, for our players or for us as a club.”
The Everton manager also hailed Farhad Moshiri’s increased his shareholding as the club’s majority investor which is set to rise to 77.2 per cent by next summer.
“As a club, not just me as a manager, I think it’s important for all the support he’s giving for us is really fantastic,” added Silva.
“It shows us how he believes in the project he’s doing here, how he believes we can improve every time and I’m sure we work together to improve the club.”
