Liverpool BID Company has confirmed that its popular Celebrating Bold Street will return to the city next month on Sunday, July 8.
The event is the finale of Liverpool BID Company’s Independents’ Week (July 2-8) – a week-long campaign putting the spotlight on the BID independent levy payers across the BID areas – Retail & Leisure BID (Metquarter, St Johns, Clayton Square, Queen Square, Church Street, Bold Street and Williamson Square) and Commercial District BID (in and around Castle Street and Old Hall Street). Now in its second year, Independents’ Week includes a number of special events and offers to showcase and support the city’s independent business community.
Nisha Katona, founder, Mowgli, and Liverpool BID Company levy payer, said: “Being our mothership and the birthplace of Mowgli, Bold Street holds a dear place in my heart. Before launching here in 2014, I used to park on the street on a daily basis and counted customers to Leaf and Bold Street Coffee which were then, the only established, thriving hip independents. The whole scene and atmosphere in the Bold Street area really excites me.
Bill Addy, chief executive, Liverpool BID Company, said: “We created Independents’ Week to champion our BID independent levy payers and showcase the rich independent offering in the BID areas. Local entrepreneurship and family business is what gives our city its unique character – and is a beating heart that needs our support to secure its continued growth.
“Celebrating Bold Street in particular is a wonderful event and an excuse to highlight the many fantastic and varied retailers, restaurants and bars located there. Bold Street is famous for its uniqueness, and we hope this event will show that, attracting visitors in their thousands, both those familiar with the street and those who have yet to experience its magic. The atmosphere was electric during last year’s event, and we cannot wait to do it all again this year!”
