Liverpool will step up their interest in Nabil Fekir after the Champions League final.
Reports in France claimed earlier this month that Fekir had agreed a £60 million move to Anfield after guiding Lyon to the runner-up spot in Ligue 1.
Jurgen Klopp as well as Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas and the player himself all refuted the claims but the Reds’ interest remains genuine.
Fekir is set to travel to this summer’s World Cup after making France’s final 23-man team but Liverpool are hopeful of agreeing a deal before the tournament.
The 24-year-old scored 21 times for Lyon this season and could fill the void left by Philippe Coutinho’s January transfer window departure to Barcelona.
Klopp is already set to bolster his ranks this summer with RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita arriving on July 1 as part of a £52m transfer.
