Walton house targeted in latest shooting

Police are appealing for information after a gunman opened fire on a house in Walton.

Officers were called to Weightman Grove at around 8.35pm on Monday to reports of a gunshot being heard.

They discovered damage to the window of a house in the street which is consistent with a shot having been fired.

Nobody was reported as being injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

Chief Inspector Jason Crellin said: “We are working to establish what happened last night so I am asking anyone who was in the area of Weightman Grove at around 8.30pm to give us any information.

“Did you see the incident itself, have home CCTV or dashcam footage or have you heard anything in the community? Let us know.

“Although nobody was injured, to fire any weapon at a residence is extremely reckless and the potential consequences can be catastrophic for victims, families and the wider community.

“Our success in seizing weapons and removing those who choose to use them depends on information, so please help us make your communities safer and eradicate gun crime.”
