There’s a well-known phrase that says a little of what you fancy does you good. There is some truth to this adage because life would be very dull if you couldn’t ever indulge yourself and have a pint and a curry now and then. If you have a job doing up your belt in the morning, go and play chase with the kids, arrange a weekly kickabout with the lads, and walk to town instead of driving. You may not develop the spectacular six-pack you could at the gym, but making these small changes will be doing you good all the same.
A little of what you fancy may indeed do you good, but so does a little of what you don’t fancy. Have a go at releasing yourself from one of your habits and see how you feel after a few weeks. You never know, you might develop a passion for exercise and end up running the marathon after all!
