Merseyside is set to be hit with bad weather as the ‘pest from the west’ moves in.
Weather specialists are closely monitoring an area of low pressure in the deep Atlantic that could bring stormy weather over the weekend and in to the start of next week.
The Met Office has indicated that Saturday is set to be particularly bad with heavy rain forecast from 3am until after 9pm on Saturday evening.
A forecaster on The Weather Channel said “An area of low pressure will approach the far south-west on Friday and into the weekend, being centred over the Bay of Biscay by Sunday.
“The associated fronts with track northwards across the British Isles bringing moderate to at times heavy rain across the south on Friday and then spreading northwards into Saturday.
“This precipitation will then fall as snow across Scotland overnight into Sunday. A secondary low is then forecast to affect the British Isles early next week bringing further rain and unsettled conditions.
“However they are current differences between the models in the exact timing and location of this, confidence lowers looking this far ahead.”
Despite the disappointing weekend forecast it is suggested that the UK will see drier and milder conditions towards the middle of next week.
