Teen found in Speke garden died of stab wounds

A 17-year-old boy who died in the garden of a property in Speke was stabbed.

Two men who were arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday have been released on bail.

A Post Mortem has confirmed that Brandon Regan died from stab wounds.

Detective Chief Inspector John Webster said: “To be launching an investigation into the murder of a 17-year-old boy on the streets of Merseyside is an appalling tragedy, and the family and friends of Brandon will be understandably devastated as they try to come to terms with their loss. At this stage we are keeping an open mind as to the motive.

“We owe it to the family and friends of Brandon and to the wider community to make sure that we do everything we can to find the person or people responsible for Brandon’s murder, remove them from our streets and put them before the courts.

“In the coming days and weeks the investigation team will be working tirelessly to build up the evidence in relation to the murder of Brandon, and key to this work as always will be the support of people within the community of Speke and beyond.

“We need to stand together to get these cowardly, violent individuals off our streets and prevent any more incidents like this happening, and I want to reassure the community that we will act on all information provided, no matter how insignificant you think it might be.
