RB Leipzig have dismissed suggestions Naby Keita could join Liverpool this month.
Keita is set to move to Anfield on July 1 after in a deal worth £57 million but the Reds had harboured hopes that the midfielder would arrive ahead of schedule.
Reports in Germany claimed that Leipzig were potentially more receptive to allowing the Guinea international to link up with Jurgen Klopp’s side in January.
However the Bundesliga club’s manager Ralph Hasenhuttl insists that their stance has not altered and are planning to retain Keita until the end of this season.
He said: “The current situation is that nothing changed.
“We do not have a reason to sell Keita any time before the end of the season – that’s it.
“He will play at the weekend against Schalke 04 and hopefully he does well.
“That’s the only thing I really care about.”
