Seamus Coleman out of FA Cup semi-final as Everton FC trio face late tests

Seamus Coleman has been ruled out of Everton’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United tomorrow.

Coleman picked up a hamstring injury in the Blues’ 1-1 home draw with Southampton last weekend and missed Wednesday’s 4-0 defeat at Liverpool as a result.

And Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that the Republic of Ireland international will definitely miss the all-important Wembley fixture through injury.

Martinez also confirmed that key trio Phil Jagielka, Gareth Barry and John Stones will all be assessed prior to tomorrow’s match.

He said: “We are quite positive about John. Medically I wouldn’t accept Phil to be fit.

“But knowing Phil he wants to try everything, so we’re not going to say no.

“We will treat his feelings rather than the injury, and see if that shapes up before the game.”
