Detectives investigating a robbery in Hunts Cross have issued CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with enquiries.
At around midday on Christmas Eve (Sunday, 24 December 2017) police received a report that staff at Sayers, Speke Road had been threatened by a man holding a hammer. The man demanded cash and made off from the scene on foot with a quantity of cash.
An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing and police have issued CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquiries.
Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: “Thankfully no members of staff or the public were hurt during this incident, but staff were left shaken by the experience.
“Incidents such as this are extremely rare and I can reassure people that we are doing everything we can to trace and arrest the offender, with detectives actively pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.
“This incident occurred around midday on Christmas Eve on a row of shops and I’d appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, has any information on the incident or who recognises the man pictured, to call officers on 101 quoting incident reference 0517328814.
