Sam Allardyce is planning to revive Everton’s interest in Christian Benteke.
Benteke emerged as a target for the Blues last summer but a move for the former Liverpool striker failed to materialise under Ronald Koeman.
However reports claim that Allardyce will attempt to lure the Belgium international to Goodison Park during the January transfer window.
The pair worked together during the new Everton manager’s time at Crystal Palace in the second half of the previous campaign.
According to the Mirror, Allardyce believes Benteke is a perfect fit for recouping a shortfall of goals left by Romelu Lukaku’s move to Manchester United.
But the 27-year-old’s strike rate this season has been less than exemplary as he only recorded a first goal in the Eagles’ win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Benteke’s move to Selhurst Park came on the back of a disappointing 12-month spell on Merseyside in which he scored only 10 times from 42 appearances.
