Boy, 14, charged with Queens Drive road death

Merseyside Policehave confirmed that a 14-year-old boy from the L9 area of Liverpool has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that happened on Queens Drive on Saturday.

78-year-old, May Margaret Laidlaw, from Walton died after she was hit by an orange scrambler bike as she crossed Queens Drive at around 5pm on Saturday evening.

A teenage boy surrendered himself to a police station in relation to the incident on Sunday.

The teenager will appear before Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday morning charged with: causing death by dangerous driving; failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision; and driving without insurance.
