A pensioner has died in a collision with a taxi in Liverpool city centre.
The 79-year-old local man was left with life-threatening injuries following the road crash on Hanover Street just before 7.20pm on Friday evening.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
The taxi driver stopped at the scene and is helping officers establish what happened. Both he and his passenger were not injured but were treated for shock.
