Bundesliga giants ramp up interest in Everton FC striker Romelu Lukaku

Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a summer move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Germany.

The Bundesliga club appear resigned to losing star men Pierre-Emerik Aubameyang and Ilkay Gundogan this summer and could use cash raised from the sales of the duo to lure Lukaku away from the Blues.

Regional paper Ruhr Nachrichten claim that Dortmund’s interest in Lukaku is ‘bigger than ever before’, with Thomas Tuchel lining up the striker as a potential replacement for Aubameyang.

Lukaku has enjoyed his best season at Goodison Park to date, scoring 25 goals in all competitions, but has recently affirmed his desire to play in the Champions League, with Everton currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Backed by the considerable wealth of new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, Everton are loathe to lose their top scorer and are believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £50 million for the player.

Mino Raiola, Lukaku’s agent, previously claimed that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are in the hunt for the 22-year-old.
