Potential fesitvalgoers are being warned about a festival to be held in Liverpool that the city council has not been informed about.
The Lights Fest website states that an event will be held in the Liverpool area though there are no details of any times, dates, or locations. The tickets on the site are being listed with prices of up to £40.
Liverpool City Council has had no information or requests from anyone linked to the American based company and the council have urged people to be cautious.
There are a number of people online, based in America, who have said that they have purchased tickets for the event which has then been cancelled. Many of those who have taken to twitter have not received a refund for their tickets.
Their website states that “Our lantern launch will take place at nightfall and is 100% dependent on the wind and the fire marshal’s approval. In the unlikely occurrence that we cancel an event, our policy is to return to the city within three months of the original date. You will be contacted via email with updates and a new itinerary.”
Those interested in the festival are being invited to “register their interest” or “save their spot” by entering their name, telephone number and email address. It is not known if anyone from Liverpool has been asked to pay for tickets to the event.
The Lights Fest next event is scheduled to take place in San Antonio, Texas on October 28. No announcements have been made in relation to this event.
