Ronald Koeman believes he can still turn around Everton’s fortunes.
Sunday’s 5-2 humiliation by Arsenal left Koeman’s Goodison Park tenure facing mounting pressure, with support in the stands already run out.
The Blues had taken the lead through Wayne Rooney before a second-half capitulation which also saw Idrissa Gueye sent off for two yellow cards.
Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri’s presence for the reversal to Arsene Wenger’s side has intensified speculation over Koeman’s future.
But the beleaguered Dutchman insists he remains capable of transforming the club’s fortunes despite them falling into the Premier League’s relegation zone.
He said: “I spoke to the players and everybody is disappointed.
“It’s how you look at the situation. If you start to think negatively then maybe there is no solution. But I am not like that.
“Okay, once again it’s all rumours and newspapers but that’s normal.
“I mentioned last Friday that it’s normal. The team is underperforming and in a difficult situation mentally, they are struggling for confidence and that’s what we need to change.
“I still personally believe that I can change the whole situation. But everybody knows how it works in football.
“That’s only what I am answering about this question. Ask somebody else.”
