Everton could face potential UEFA sanctions over their on-field brawl against Lyon.
Players from both sides were embroiled in a mass melee during the second half of the Blues’ 2-1 defeat after Ashley Williams’ late challenge on Anthony Lopes.
The skirmishes took place close to the Gwladys Street end, with TV footage showing one man in the stand leaving his seat and aiming his arm towards it.
Both Williams and Bertrand Traore, who later scored the winning goal for the visitors, were cautioned for their part in the incident.
Traore confronted a home supporter that appeared to strike out at Lopes.
“In these heated moments, like the fight, we have to help each other, stay as a team. That’s what I tried to do,” he told L’Equipe.
“There’s a supporter who puts a blow to Anthony Lopes, I think it’s not normal. I defended him.”
“I don’t think it is part of the English atmosphere to hit an away player,” added Lopes.
“I am proud that we were strong at 1-1 and we won the game despite everything.
“It was no big deal, it happened and that was it. For me it seemed to wake up the fans and they seemed to love it.”
The Goodison Park club are likely to incur disciplinary action from UEFA just weeks after they were charged for similar breaches against Hajduk Split.
Last month European football’s governing body handed out a €10,000 (£8,831) fine for objects that were thrown during August’s qualifier with the Croatians.
Split were fined €40,000 (£35,324) punishment and forced to reach a settlement with Everton over damage caused by fans to seating in the Bullens Road stand.
They were also charged for object-throwing and crowd disturbances after a five-minute break in play caused by visiting fans attempting to storm the pitch.
