With Liverpool’s hotly-anticipated Vogue Ball returning next month, organiser House of Suarez has revealed a host of sponsors for the 2017 Vogueing extravaganza.
This year’s ball will take place on Saturday, 21 October at the city’s popular dockside arts and performance space, the Invisible Wind Factory, with the theme for 2017 being Se7en Deadly Sins.
House of Suarez will transform the waterfront venue in stunning fashion to reflect the theme of the 2017 ball, complete with a 100ft catwalk reminiscent of 1970s/80s New York (the home of the Vogue dance style).
Sponsors who are backing this year’s event include Urban Calm, Sane Seven Photography Production, Morecrofts Solicitors, AYAW?, Rare Atelier, Good News Liverpool, The Lisbon, MDI, TravelBeat and The Invisible Wind Factory.
It is also supported with funding from Arts Council England.
The multi-award winning ball is the ultimate dance event, giving Voguers an amazing and memorable evening. Vogueing often imitates the perfect lines and flexibility of model poses seen in magazines such as Vogue, the iconic fashion magazine from which the dance style took its name.
Groups of artists will come together in teams – known as ‘Houses’ – and showcase their deadliest and most amazing costumes on the runway in front of a large public audience as well as a panel of industry judges.
The Se7en Deadly Sins Ball is inspired by the seven cardinal sins in literature, on film and in theatre…. Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride.
Darren Suarez, Artistic Director of House of Suarez, said: “Excitement is growing for this year’s Vogue Ball, and we’re really pleased to return to the Invisible Wind Factory after such a brilliant night there last year. It’s an amazing venue and perfect for Vogueing.
“I can’t thank our incredible team of sponsors enough. Many of them have backed the Vogue Ball for a number of years now, and if it wasn’t for their continued support and faith in us, we wouldn’t be able to continue to grow the event each year and make it even more fabulous.”
