Jurgen Klopp has responded to claims that Barcelona are on the verge of signing Philippe Coutinho.
The Catalans’ general manager Pep Segura stated that they were ‘close’ to landing the Liverpool playmaker and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.
Coutinho submitted a transfer request to the Anfield hierarchy last week after Barca saw successive bids of £72 million and £90.2m rejected outright.
But Klopp insists nothing has changed in the club’s stance on refusing to sell the Brazil international and disputed ex-Reds youth coach Segura’s remarks.
Asked whether he had any response to the claims, the Liverpool manager said: “No reaction actually.
“I saw the game but forgot to watch the interviews afterwards so there’s nothing to say from my side.
“I don’t know why other people are saying what they are saying.
“I don’t even know them.”
“I’m not sure I have to answer this because we have already said what we have to say,” added Klopp.
“Nothing new. No news from me and nobody has told me anything different since the last time we spoke.”
Coutinho will miss Liverpool’s Premier League game with Crystal Palace on Saturday with a back problem that has ruled him out of their previous two games of the season.
