Toxteth man’s help wanted over Yusuf Sonko murder

A Toxteth man is being urged to help with the investigation into Yusuf Sonko’s murder.

Police believe that Jason Curry, 22, holds information that may help their investigation into the teenager’s killing earlier this month.

Yusuf was found with a gunshot wound by officers on Tagus Street on June 3. He was taken to Royal Liverpool Hospital where he died a short while later.

Merseyside Police made the appeal to Mr Curry, who is native to Toxteth but known to frequent Cumbria and Wrexham, in the hunt for Sonko’s killer.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Tivendale, said: “We believe that Jason may have important information which could help us with our investigation.

“I would urge him, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have information which could help us find those responsible to contact us, if they haven’t done so already.

“Anyone with information can speak to us anonymously and in the strictest confidence if need be.

“Any information provided will be closely investigated by detectives. Your information could help us make significant progress in this investigation.”
