Everton and Liverpool could be set to battle it out for Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico during the close season.
Both clubs are believed to be in the market for a new number-one this summer, with long-term Blues stopper Tim Howard pencilled in for a return to Major League Soccer this summer with the Colorado Rapids while Simon Mignolet has yet to nail down his position as first-choice keeper at Anfield.
Rico, a highly rated goalkeeper on the fringes of Vicente Del Bosque’s Spain squad, has caught the eye of respective managers Roberto Martinez and Jurgen Klopp, according to the Sunday Express.
The 22-year-old ‘keeper is said to be available for a fee in the region of £15 million, with Premier League rivals Southampton also keen on a move for the 2014-15 Europa League winner.
