Trevor Whelan back on the Romford Pele

Jockey Brian Hughes, who was due to ride The Romford Pele in the Crabbie’s Grand National, has been stood down for the day after a heavy fall in the first race, when his mount Urban Hymn fell at the first.
The ride will now be taken Trevor Whelan, who was the intended jockey before Hughes was switched on to The Romford Pele after stable companion O’Faolains Boy was declared a non-runner this morning.
This will be Whelan’s first ride in the Crabbie’s Grand National.
Hughes was also due to ride Maggio (5) in the fifth race, the Betfred Handicap Chase (4.20), and this ride will now be taken by James Reveley.
