Philippe Coutinho has reportedly agreed to quit Liverpool this summer.
Coutinho continues to attract interest from Barcelona, who plan on making him their latest marquee signing, and has given the go-ahead to his Anfield exit.
Reports in Spain claim that the playmaker is preparing himself for a move to the Nou Camp and has given club officials the go-ahead to begin negotiations with the Reds.
Liverpool tied Coutinho down to a new five-year contract in January and had rebuffed a €30 million approach from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
But Sport newspaper allege that the 24-year-old is ready to engineer a move to Barca after they outlined where he will fit in their star-studded first team plans.
Also said to be strengthening the current La Liga champions-elect’s case is Coutinho’s refusal to entertain a move to PSG, who have held their interest.
In spite of the potentially lucrative move for Liverpool, Barca officials are under no illusions that the transfer could become a protracted saga.
