Victim of St Helens triple stabbing dies

A man injured during a triple stabbing in St Helens has died in hospital.

The 20-year-old was in a critical condition after the incident close to the Shere Khan takeaway on Liverpool Road at around 5.25pm last Sunday (April 23).

He was pronounced deceased in the early hours of Wednesday. A post-mortem will be carried out and his family have since been informed.

Police have since confirmed that the man who died was Ryan Lamb.

Two other men who were also injured in the attack believed to have taken place at the rear of the nearby Phoenix pub were last said to be in stable conditions.

Police arrested two men, a 17-year-old from Rainhill and 18-year-old from Kensington, on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing.

Both bailed pending further enquiries but a 21-year-old man from Huyton arrested on suspicion of assault remains in custody for questioning by detectives.
