A teenager is in a critical condition following two stabbings in less than 24 hours.
The 19-year-old suffered knife wounds to the chest and leg during the incident on Lincombe Road in Huyton shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital, where his condition is currently described as critical.
An investigation is currently underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are ongoing in the local area.
The attack came just hours after another, unrelated stabbing in a Woolton road.
Police were called to Garway at 6.10pm following reports that a man, 24, had suffered a wound to his arm which was consistent with a knife being used.
A 29 year-old male has since been arrested on suspicion of s18 assault and is currently in custody. He will be interviewed by officers today.
