A runaway suspect in the hit-and-run killing of Violet-Grace Youens has been charged by police.
Aiden McAteer fled the country within hours of the four-year-old and her nan Angela French being struck by a stolen Ford Focus in St Helens last Friday.
The 23-year-old returned home following a public appeal by his mother to hand himself into detectives investigating the fatal incident on Prescot Road.
McAteer, from Prescot, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
