Liverpool could embark on a second warm-weather training camp this month.
Jurgen Klopp took his players to La Manga last month during the Reds’ recent 16-day break from action as part of a second ‘pre-season’ session.
But the Liverpool manager is now considering another trip overseas by taking his squad to Tenerife during this month’s forthcoming international break.
History is on the German’s side after his players went on an unbeaten seven-game run following their previous visit to the area just 12 months ago.
As with last time, only players not on international duty will be enlisted which means the likes of Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Divock Origi are unlikely to feature.
Klopp is also preparing to again allow the players’ families to travel to southern Spain in his bid for a strong finish to the current Premier League campaign.
The Liverpool manager remains undeterred in his pursuit of Champions League qualification, which he believes would constitute a successful season for the club.
“Qualifying for the Champions League would be a big success, 100%,” he told BBC Sport.
“Qualifying for the Europa League, I’m not sure that I could sell it as success. But it would be okay. It would be a step in the right direction.
“But it’s too early to say what would be a success because we have to learn from the last games very quickly.
“First of all we have to make sure we are really good against Arsenal [on Saturday].
“If we want to stay in this region of the table then we need to bounce back against Arsenal.
“What’s the alternative? The alternative is that until now they were doing better against the big teams and now they don’t even do that any more.
“We have no alternative. We have to deliver. We have to show a reaction. Hopefully we can.”
