New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly made re-signing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku a top priority this summer.
The Italy coach was today confirmed as the long-term successor to Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, and reportedly believes a radical overhaul of the Londoners’ squad necessary in order to arrest the reigning Premier League champions’ alarming slump into mid-table.
And the Independent suggests that Lukaku, who joined Everton from Chelsea for £28 million back in July 2014, is the name at the top of the former Juventus boss’ list when it comes to striking targets.
The Belgian international has found the net 28 times in 66 Premier League games since he made his move to Goodison Park permanent, and is also being tracked by a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Agent Mino Raiola claims that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are leading the chase for Lukaku after he made public his desire to leave the Blues in favour of Champions League football.
