A man is set to appear in court following a six-hour house siege in Birkenhead.
David Lee Chalmers was arrested on Wednesday after barricading both himself and an eight-month-old baby in the room of a property on Raffles Road.
Police recovered a machete and a crossbow from the house following the stand-off, which ended following hours of successful negotiation by police.
Detectives have charged the 25-year-old with two counts of false imprisonment, two of threats to kill and one of affray in connection with the incident this week.
Chalmers, of Prenton, has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday.
