Police not hunting anyone else in Wirral mum’s death

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Anita Stevenson are not searching for anyone else in connection with her death.

The Wirral mother-of-two’s body was discovered on woodland in Bromborough on November 26, some 18 days after she had disappeared from her home.

A 41-year-old man from Birkenhead was originally arrested in connection with Ms Stevenson’s murder last month but later bailed pending further enquiries.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that the man has since been released with ‘no further action’ being taken on the 39-year-old, originally from Yorkshire.

Anita’s last known moments were captured on CCTV cameras near Albany Road in Rock Ferry on the day she went missing.
