A teenager from Liverpool is among three people who died in a horror crash on a country road in Shropshire.

Robert McLoughlin, 19, died at the scene of the accident when a car caught fire after a smash on the A495 near Whittington.

The two other victims were Corrine Thomas, 24, Keira Smyth, 18, both from Ellesmere, Shropshire.

West Mercia Police have named the three who died when the silver vauxhall Corsa in which they were travelling burst into flames after it crashed into a blue Citroen CV.

Five people were injured in the collision on Ellesmere Road at around 9.50pm on Tuesday.

A 37-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl who were in the Citroen remain stable in hospital.
