David Coote has been sacked after being filmed slating Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
Refereeing body PGMOL initially suspended him following the emergence of footage just days after he oversaw last month’s game with Aston Villa at Anfield.
In the video, he attacked the Reds as ‘s**t’ and labelled Klopp a ‘German c**t’ before further incriminating evidence surfaced following the viral social media clip.
On Monday, the PGMOL confirmed that the 42-year-olds’ employment has been terminated ‘with immediate effect’ following the findings of their internal probe.
“Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect,” read a PGMOL statement.
“David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable.
“Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare.
“David Coote has a right to appeal the decision to terminate his employment.”
Liverpool, meanwhile, have seen two games moved in the Premier League’s round of broadcast picks for February which were annonced on Monday afternoon.
Wolves’ visit to Anfield will take place at 2pm on February 16 with a trip to Manchester City now scheduled for February 23 at an as-yet unconfirmed kick-off time.
