Jurgen Klopp rejected an approach to become Germany’s new head coach.
Klopp has routinely been linked with taking the reins with his homeland despite signing a new four-year extension at Liverpool 18 months ago.
Ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was appointed on Friday to oversee the four-time world champions through their Euro 2024 campaign.
But Die Mannschaft officials are understood to have been disappointed when reaching out to the 56-year-old about taking the previously vacant position.
Klopp reaffirmed commitment to Anfield whenever previously broaching the subject and endorsed Nagelsmann’s candidacy when asked earlier this week.
He said: “I think Julian is a great solution because he is a great coach.
“He had already proven at 28 that he is a fantastic coach. He has eight years of experience.
“Others have that at 45 or 50 – at the highest level.”
