The PGMOL are investigating allegations that Andy Robertson was elbowed by a match official in Liverpool’s draw with Arsenal.
Robertson claimed to have been struck by linesman Constantine Hatzidakis for approaching him during the interval of Sunday’s Premier League encounter.
The Reds’ full-back was booked for dissent by referee Paul Tierney as several members of Jurgen Klopp’s side crowded him after the half-time whistle.
Responding to the incident, the professional referees’ body confirmed that they would probe events surrounding the flashpoint after the game itself.
“PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture at Anfield,” confirmed a statement.
“We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded.”
Klopp declined to comment on the incident after Liverpool secured a point against the Premier League leaders through Roberto Firmino’s late header.
He said: “I didn’t see it and I now have obviously time to watch it but I didn’t just because I cannot give wrong answers.
“I heard the pictures speak for themselves. I cannot say more.
“I didn’t see a bit of it.”
