Jurgen Klopp insists he is ‘not worried’ about Mohamed Salah’s ankle knock.
Salah suffered a relapse of the injury during Liverpool’s win over Manchester City earlier this month which sidelined him for Egypt’s latest round of fixtures.
The back-to-back Premier League Golden Boot holder was an unused substitute during Saturday’s victory at Crystal Palace leading to concerns over his fitness.
Klopp has no qualms about Salah’s condition ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Napoli but insists Joel Matip’s return is still a little way off.
He said: “Mo looked really good in training the day before yesterday especially, after the game [against Crystal Palace].
“We didn’t do too much but we’ll see today. I’m not worried about it.
“Joel is improving but still some time away from the team because this week is important.
“We will measure the improvement of the healing, with a scan probably, and then we will see how it is. From that moment on, we can make decisions.
“It’s nothing you can rush, you just have to wait. Our body is from time to time like this so nothing really new about him.”
