Emre Can has downplayed Marouane Fellaini’s elbow on him during Liverpool’s Europa League win over Manchester United.
In the final stages of the Reds’ 2-0 victory against Louis van Gaal’s side at Anfield last night, Fellaini appeared to strike out at German midfielder, send him tumbling to the turf.
But while the one-time Everton man may face retrospective disciplinary action from UEFA, Can insists that there was no ill feeling towards his Belgian counterpart.
He said: “It was just a small fight. It was not a boxing ring punch.
“Fellaini is a fair sportsman. He touched my throat with his elbow but it is OK.
