Everton are exploring a swap deal with Crystal Palace involving Dwight McNeil.
McNeil was previously on the verge of a move to Selhurst Park in the January transfer window with an initial loan with an obligation to buy already agreed.
However the winger remained with David Moyes’ side after the deal broke down at the 11th hour amid accusations of ‘radio silence’ from the Londoners.
McNeil’s fiancee Megan Sharpley criticised the Eagles on social media but a switch could be back following reignited negotiations between the clubs.
The Conference League holders are again keen on the 26-year-old while the Blues have set their sights on signing Brennan Johnson as part of the deal.
Johnson completed a £35 million move to Palace in January from Tottenham but struggled to score in any of his 26 appearances from all competitions.
The Wales international arrived with a burgeoning reputation after racking up 18 goals and four assists in 51 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.
However the Times claim that any potential swap is currently complicated by the Premier League clubs’ differing valuations on the respective players.
Everton are still in the market for a right-back despite their interest in Celtic’s Alistair Johnston cooling in light of the Scottish champions’ £15M valuation.
