Cagliari have completed the signing of former Everton midfielder Demi Akarakiri.
Akarakiri moves to the Serie A outfit after two years on Merseyside, playing 33 times last season predominantly for the under-18 side and occasionally the U21s.
The teenager also represented the Blues’ in the Premier League International Cup and was on the score sheet in a 3-2 win over PSV Eindhoven at Goodison Park.
Paul Tait’s side topped Group A in the competition, edging out Real Madrid, before suffering a quarter-final elimination to Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund.
Everton offered Akarakiri, whose academy journey started at Arsenal, fresh terms in hopes of securing his long-term future following that strong developmental spell.
However the 18-year-old was released at the end of June after turning down the contract offered to pursue the move to Sardinia which was confirmed on Saturday.
