Everton’s Jordan Pickford has set a new Premier League awards record.
The England international won February’s Save of the Month for his stunning stop to deny Sandro Tonali’s late volley during his side’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle.
It is the second time this season that Pickford has claimed the accolade and a fourth overall since its introduction at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Blues’ stopper, who also won the 2012/22 Save of the Season, has overtaken Arsenal counterpart David Raya as the most successful recipient of the award
“You put in hard work on the training ground and enjoy moments like that,” said Pickford.
“Tonali’s hit it as best as he could. I think he’s even come out and said that.
“It was a massive game. I’ll always take the three points and if I can help the team to get a result and be called upon, that’s what I’m there to do.
“But yeah, it was a great save.”
