David Moyes has challenged Everton’s strikers to deliver ‘bigger returns’.

Thierno Barry and Beto have scored a combined eight goals in their previous 10 Premier League games with the pair both netting in the win at Newcastle.

But the Blues’ No.11 has amassed just six goals from 31 appearances in all competitions while Beto has five in the same number of club outings.

Ahead of Tuesday’s visit of Burnley, Moyes has implored the pair to hit the goal trail as his side look to make good on their European ambitions.

He said: “I think we need more goals from them.

“I don’t think the numbers you’re talking about are the numbers I want.

“I want centre-forwards to score far more goals so for them to spread that number out is good in the last games.

“But let’s be fair, we’ve played now 28 games so we’re needing bigger returns from them.

“It’s been something we’ve missed all season. But getting three at the weekend was great for us because it’s not something we’ve done too often.

“I think probably from Thierno’s point of view, at the start people said about getting him more games, giving him a chance [to show what he can do].

“We’ve given him opportunities to show what he can do. We’ve given him that chance.

“Beto’s had moments but not as good moment as he had this time last year. But he’s still in recent games come up with a couple of goals for us.

“That’s his job and if he can continue doing that, we’ll be really pleased.”
