Everton have recalled Harrison Armstrong from his loan at Preston.

Armstrong returned to the Championship for a second stint on transfer deadline day after previously spending a half-season at Derby County.

During his time at Deepdale, the 18-year-old made 17 domestic appearances as Paul Heckingbottom’s side put themselves in contention for a play-off spot.

But a shortage of available options in the Blues’ squad forced David Moyes to admit that it was ‘more than likely’ that Armstrong would be drafted back in.

It has now been confirmed that the midfielder has returned to Merseyside and is in contention for Sunday’s Premier League home encounter with Brentford.

Armstrong has made eight senior appearances since making his Everton debut in August 2024 and earned acclaim with his cup involvements.

He was named Man of the Match in both an FA Cup third round win over Peterborough last January and this season’s Carabao Cup tie with Mansfield.

The West Derby-born player is the second to be recalled from loan after Everton triggered a similar clause in Martin Sherif’s stay at Rotherham.
