Everton complete first signing of the summer

Everton have made Charly Alcaraz their first signing of the summer.

Alcaraz becomes the first permanent signing of David Moyes’ second spell after impressing with 16 appearances in a half-season loan from Flamengo.

The Argentine midfielder produced two goals and three assists including the winner in the Blues’ final Premier League outing against Newcastle United.

He will sign a two-year deal with the option of a third after the club activated a £12 million purchase clause to secure his services from the Brasilerao outfit.

Alcaraz had prevously spent 12 months at Southampton before joining Juventus on loan prior to joining Flamengo permanently last summer.

During his brief time on Merseyside, the 22-year-old has become a popular figure among fans while also impressing Moyes’ side at close quarters.
