Everton are on the verge of appointing Angus Kinnear as their new CEO.
Kinnear has spent the past eight years with Leeds United but is now set to make the move to Merseyside as owners The Friedkin Group’s latest hire.
The 47-year-old will take over executive duties from Colin Chong, who has held the post on an interim basis since Denise Barrett-Baxendale’s 2023 exit.
Chong was elevated to the club’s board of directors following the Americans’ takeover in December, having initially arrived to oversee their new stadium.
TFG identified Kinnear as their preferred candidate as part of a recruitment search undertaken with the help of sports management firm Nolan Partners.
However the former Arsenal and West Ham man will not take up his post until the end of the season as he aims to oversee Leeds’ Premier League return.
Kinnear’s contract at Elland Road is understood to be open-ended, requiring the Blues to engage with their Championship counterparts over his exit.
