Everton playmaker Iliman Ndiaye is facing several weeks out of action.

Ndiaye was withdrawn midway through the first half of Wednesday’s last-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park after appearing to kick the ground.

The Senegal international appeared visibly distraught as he limped down the tunnel just 25 minutes into an eventual 2-2 draw for David Moyes’ side.

Moyes confirmed on Friday that Ndiaye has now joined the swelled ranks of the Blues’ casualty list with seven players also currently sidelined by injury.

He said: “Ili’s got a medial ligament injury.

“It’s not looking great at the moment. We’re probably not sure how long it’s going to be – we’ll maybe get more on that [soon].

“But it’s certainly going to be a few weeks anyway.”
