Everton striker Oumar Niasse has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
Police were called to a property in Salford in the early hours of Friday morning, capsule where they arrested the Senegal international.
Niasse, a £13.5 million signing from Lokamotiv Moscow in the January transfer window, was taken into custody but bailed until May 27, pending further enquires.
“The club condemns unreservedly any form of abuse,” said an Everton spokesman.
“In this case, we understand an investigation is underway to establish the facts.”
